First Dental Visit
Scheduling your child’s very first dentist appointment is an exciting milestone. The American Dental Association recommends that children visit the dentist for the first time when one or more teeth have come in or around their first birthday. Some parents are surprised to hear this since most babies do not have many teeth around this age. The first visit is mostly about getting kids acquainted with their new dental office and ensuring that their gums and whatever teeth they have look healthy. If your child is over one year old and hasn’t seen a dentist yet, don’t worry. Our team at Leesburg Family Dental will be more than happy to work with them whenever you are able to bring them in!
Kid Friendly Office
Sometimes children are nervous about visiting the dentist for the first time. If you know that your child might get anxious in new situations, you are welcome to bring them in for a quick tour of our office. They can meet some of our friendly team members which will make things easier on the day of their appointment. They’ll already be familiar with our office and the people that they met last time. Parents are also welcome to stay with their kids during treatments to make them feel more at ease in the dental chair. As far as appointment time frames go, we find that young children tend to be more cooperative in the morning. Of course you’re welcome to schedule afternoon appointments for your child as well.
